Volunteer Shifts: 15 – 19 October 2014

Location: Parramatta City, including Church Street and Prince Alfred Square, Harris Park

What is Parramasala?
Parramasala 2014 promises to be a spicy mix of parade, parties, exotic bazaar, food stalls, music, dance, poetry, film, art, street performers and more.

Immerse yourself in a celebration of the many rich and diverse cultures in Sydney’s own backyard.

Join the colourful caravan of lights, costumes, drums and music as the Opening Night Parade weaves through the streets to Prince Alfred Park for a party featuring the funky fusion of hiphop artist L-FRESH and fireworks.

Spend the weekend wandering the exotic bazaar of the Masala Markets; ride a camel or chill out at the Chai Temple; fill your plate with spicy flavours from street hawkers and dance the night away at the Harris Park Bollywood Block Party.

You can catch a flick at the South Asian film festival; indulge in an eclectic mix of dance, world music sounds, comedy, magicians and sufi poets or explore your inner artist at a family art workshop at Parramatta Artists Studios.
