City 2 Surf 2014 Volunteering

Event Date: Sunday 10 August 2014

Location: Sydney City to Bondi Beach

Since 1971 Sydneysiders have been joined by participants from all over the world, elite athletes rubbing shoulders with locals to run, walk or watch the 14km race from Hyde Park in Sydney’s CBD to the finish at Bondi Beach. City to Surf is a real Sydney experience and get involved in it is a must. If you are like us that running is not really your thing but engage with the community and having a great day out is what you are looking for, join our team!

Volunteering at the City to Surf
Eventeamwork is looking for volunteers to assist the event as

City to Surf Expo Volunteers
Thursday, 7 August
Friday, 8 August
Saturday, 9 August
(Several Shifts between 6am and 8pm)

Volunteers will assist with:

  • Delivering positive customer service to all participants
  • Efficient race pack collection
  • Answering any last minute event day questions
  • Providing directions for those collecting their race packs

We will go through each of these before starting the shift to make sure everyone is comfortable with the duties. There may be a pre event briefing for this role, we will communicate this with those who sign up asap.

Information Marshal
Sunday, 10 August
We invite all Expo volunteers to use their knowledge on event day as well and see it all coming together. You can only register for this shift if you complete at least one shift at the Expo. 

Information Marshal will roam the start area in Hyde Park on event day. Your experience at the expo will provide you with the excellent skills to be able to answer any questions participants have on the day.

On the left hand side of the page you will be able to see this shift, however you will not be able to register for it until you have selected your Expo shift. Your expo shift confirmation email will have a direct link to sign up for this shift.

Course Marshal Fillers
Sunday, 10 August
(early start – 5.30am, finish time between 11am and 2pm depending on final position)

You need to be flexible and be happy to work in any positions. You may work as a course marshal, a water station assistant or finish line support.

You will find out your specific role on the day. You will start the day at Rushcutters Bay Park catching an event bus that will leave you in your position along the course. You might even finish in Bondi helping at the finish line.
